Bakery brand Hovis is to roll out AI-driven manufacturing specialist IntelliAM’s platform across multiple production sites.
The deal includes full deployment of the platform and integration of its smart sensor interfaces across Hovis’s production lines. The Sheffield-based company will also provide ongoing consultancy to boost reliability, productivity and asset availability.
Both companies expect the investment to pay off quickly. Productivity gains are projected to deliver a full return on investment within the first year.
IntelliAM first partnered with Hovis in September 2024, providing reliability consultancy across three key sites.
That initial project delivered gap analyses, criticality assessments and targeted maintenance strategies that improved production reliability and laid the foundation for the expanded rollout.
Chris Bradley, chief operations officer at Hovis, said the decision followed a close review of the initial engagement’s results. “We are pleased to be making this next-step investment in IntelliAM’s services and AI platform,” he said.
Tom Clayton, chief executive of IntelliAM, described the deal as a significant milestone. “We are proud to be deepening our relationship with Hovis and helping them lead the way in transforming UK manufacturing productivity,” he said.
