Microsoft has unveiled a suite of AI-driven upgrades for Windows 11, including voice-activation on Windows 11 PCs and “more experimental AI.”

Microsoft’s Copilot assistant updates are aimed at simplifying user interaction and automating everyday tasks. Users can now activate Copilot with “Hey Copilot” voice commands on any Windows 11 PC through a new opt-in feature.

Copilot Vision, a feature that can analyze what’s on your screen and respond to queries, will roll out in all markets where Copilot is available.

Further, Microsoft said, “alongside Copilot Labs, we’re bringing even more experimental AI and agentic features to Windows Insiders.”

Among the upgrades is an experimental expansion of Copilot Actions beyond the browser, enabling limited actions on local files in Windows for Windows Insiders.

The Copilot Action for web was previously announced in May, which lets the AI assistant handle real-world tasks like booking restaurant reservations or ordering groceries.

Yusuf Mehdi, chief marketing officer for consumer products, described the move as a pivotal shift: “We believe we are on the brink of a new evolution, where AI is not limited to chatbots but is seamlessly integrated into the millions of experiences that people engage with daily.”
