Amazon said it will invest €1.4 billion (about $1.63 billion) in the Netherlands over the next three years, its largest commitment in the euro zone’s fifth biggest economy since launching in 2020.
The company has about 1,000 employees in the country.
Amazon said the funding will support both Amazon Web Services and its retail business in the Netherlands, including infrastructure and technology to help local sellers.
Country manager of Amazon Belgium and Amazon the Netherlands, Eva Faict, said part of the spending targets AI tools for entrepreneurs who sell on the platform.
“Our primary focus is on continuously offering our Dutch customers low prices, a wide selection of products, and convenient delivery options,” she added.
The announcement follows a separate plan to invest more than 1 billion euros in Belgium from 2025 to 2027, the company said earlier this month.
