Lambda signed a multibillion-dollar, multi-year agreement with Microsoft to deploy AI infrastructure powered by tens of thousands of Nvidia GPUs, including GB300 NVL72 systems.
“It’s great to watch the Microsoft and Lambda teams working together to deploy these massive AI supercomputers… We’ve been working with Microsoft for more than eight years,” CEO Stephen Balaban said in the announcement.
The company did not disclose contract value or term details; it framed the pact as mission-critical AI cloud compute “at scale” to expand access to accelerated computing for customers on Microsoft’s cloud, the announcement states.
For context, Microsoft Azure detailed separately in a previous blog that it has already brought the first large-scale GB300 NVL72 cluster online for frontier AI workloads, framing NVL72 as its next-gen production tier.
Lambda added that the agreement extends its long-standing collaboration with Microsoft and positions its “Superintelligence Cloud” for broader enterprise demand. Next steps were not dated in the announcement.
