Microsoft, Nvidia and Anthropic formed new partnerships under which Anthropic will purchase $30 billion of Azure compute and contract up to 1 gigawatt of capacity.
Anthropic said in its announcement that Nvidia and Microsoft will invest up to $10 billion and up to $5 billion, respectively, in Anthropic, and that Claude models (Sonnet 4.5, Opus 4.1, Haiku 4.5) will be available to businesses via Microsoft Foundry.
Microsoft’s announcement adds that the Azure buildout will use Nvidia Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems, with Anthropic optimizing models for Nvidia architectures and vice versa.
Anthropic also said Amazon remains its primary cloud provider and training partner, while the Azure partnership makes Claude the only frontier model available on all three major clouds.
Microsoft said it will maintain access to Claude across Copilot products; additional integration details will be published through Microsoft and Anthropic product channels.
