OpenAI announced collaboration with Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) to co-design and manufacture multiple generations of AI data-center racks and components in the U.S., with Foxconn building cabling, networking, cooling and power systems at its U.S. facilities.
Separately, Alphabet’s Intrinsic announced a joint venture with Foxconn to deploy AI-enabled robotics and factory orchestration across manufacturing lines, targeting assembly, inspection and logistics tasks.
OpenAI’s post frames the hardware partnership around strengthening domestic AI supply chains, speeding deployments and broadening sourcing to more U.S. suppliers, while the Intrinsic JV aims to make factory operations more flexible and adaptive with software-defined robotics.
Together, the deals could position Foxconn as both a U.S. AI-infrastructure manufacturer and an automation platform partner, linking data-center build-outs with factory-floor modernization for OEMs and cloud providers evaluating domestic capacity and resilient supply.
Neither announcement discloses financial terms or purchase commitments. Both are effective immediately per the companies’ posts.
