Formula 1 has introduced a new data and video analysis system for the 2025 season, in a bid to improve race-day decision-making.
Announced during the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix 2025, the partnership with digital transformation firm Globant aims to streamline the way race teams access and analyse video and data during races.
The system allows teams to access real-time and archived video footage, as well as synchronised data, to help engineers and team principals make quick, informed decisions regarding driver strategy right at the paddock.
It uses AI-powered analytics and an interface that Globant claims helps engineers access crucial insights on a user-friendly design.
It integrates more than 30 video channels with various audio sources to provide immediate replay analysis, user sharing, and live response.
Called “Team Content Delivery System”, it claims to reduce response times from nine seconds with the previous setup to under five seconds for live connections at the track, and around six seconds for users connecting remotely.
It also includes video ingestion and cloud delivery on-site, data normalisation and classification, and synchronised video pipelines.
“This marks a significant step in our partnership with Formula 1 and showcases how innovation can create value and improve solutions in the most technologically advanced sport in the world,” said Diego Tártara, Globant’s CTO.
“The team Content Delivery System will further evolve the ways teams consume and process key trackside data to support them in making faster and more informed decisions when they need it most,” added Chris Roberts, director of IT at Formula 1.
“This launch represents a key milestone in our partnership, and we look forward to further collaborations that will enhance the drama and excitement of Formula 1 both on and off track.”
