Google has joined LA28 as a founding partner and official cloud provider for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, making the tech giant the fifth founding partner. The deal extends to Team USA and NBCUniversal’s coverage as well.

The partnership deploys Google Cloud infrastructure and AI tools, including the Gemini model and new AI Mode search features. These will power NBCUniversal’s multi-platform broadcasts and support LA28 operations for millions of fans, athletes and over 70,000 volunteers.

LA28 chairperson Casey Wasserman said the tie-up aims to deliver “technologically advanced, engaging and digitally accessible Games.” Google’s technology will help attendees navigate venues and access real-time information during the events.

YouTube will partner with NBCUniversal to host select Games-related content as an extension of coverage. Google joins Starbucks, Honda, Comcast and Delta as founding partners in LA28’s push toward $800 million to $1 billion in new 2025 deals.

The Los Angeles Games will be the third city ever to host three Olympic Games, following 1932 and 1984, and its first Paralympics. LA28 plans to rely on existing venues rather than building new permanent infrastructure.
