Google invests $40 billion in Texas data centers through 2027

Google announced a $40 billion investment in Texas through 2027 to build new cloud and AI infrastructure, including new data-center campuses in Armstrong and Haskell counties.

In the post, Google adds a $30 million Energy Impact Fund, plans for 6,200+ MW of new generation and capacity via power purchase agreements, and notes one Haskell site will be paired with a solar and battery facility.

The Office of the Texas Governor said the investment is Google’s largest in any U.S. state and will bring three new data-center campuses, alongside workforce training programs announced with CEO Sundar Pichai in Midlothian, Texas.

Google’s post also highlights apprenticeship support with the program electrical training Alliance to train more than 1,700 Texas apprentices by 2030, and reiterates a goal to keep AI infrastructure expansion aligned with grid and community initiatives.
