Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced that the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) awarded it a $931 million, 10-year other transaction agreement to modernize DISA data centers with an HPE GreenLake Private Cloud environment supporting AI and data-intensive workloads.

HPE says the deployment will accelerate communications, app delivery and analytics for combat-support missions across AWS Top Secret/Secret interconnects and on-prem environments, with NIST-compliant, air-gapped management and phased deliveries starting in 2026.

The executive branch authorized use of “Department of War” as a secondary title for the Pentagon via executive order on Sept. 5, 2025; the statutory name remains “Department of Defense” unless changed by Congress.
