OpenAI has named HubSpot its first customer relationship management (CRM) partner for ChatGPT Ads, giving businesses a way to build campaigns in HubSpot and send CRM conversion data back to OpenAI.
HubSpot, a CRM software company, said customers can connect a ChatGPT Ads account, create campaigns and track which ads generate contacts and deals. ChatGPT Ads performance appears alongside other ad channels in HubSpot, so customers do not need a separate reporting workflow.
The integration is available in public beta to HubSpot customers in countries where ChatGPT Ads are supported.
How the integration works
HubSpot says advertisers can create conversion events triggered by actions such as a form submission or a change in a contact’s lifecycle stage. They can choose which matching information to share, including an email address, phone number or name.
The sharing is tied to a consent property on the individual HubSpot contact. HubSpot supports similar conversion-data connections with Google, Meta and LinkedIn.
Attribution is clearer than the performance claim
HubSpot describes the integration as enabling “true ROI analysis” for ChatGPT advertising and argues that tracing closed deals back to campaigns is “only possible when your CRM and your marketing platform are the same system.”
The integration provides the mechanics for connecting ChatGPT ad spend with downstream CRM outcomes. The launch, however, does not provide evidence that using those CRM signals improves campaign performance or produces a higher return on investment.
OpenAI presented the HubSpot and Shopify partnerships as a way to bring ChatGPT Ads into tools businesses already use. Shopify became OpenAI’s first e-commerce partner in the same rollout.
“Putting AI to work shouldn’t require businesses to rebuild the way they work,” Brian Landsman, OpenAI’s vice president of global partnerships, said in HubSpot’s announcement.
HubSpot Chief Product and Technology Officer Duncan Lennox said the aim is to give scaling businesses “a real shot at showing up where buyers are, understanding what’s working, and acting on it quickly.”
The launch also includes a limited-time AI Growth Bundle for new HubSpot customers. It offers discounts on HubSpot Starter seats and credits, plus a buy-one-get-one-free offer on ChatGPT Business standard seats. Eligible new U.S. advertisers can receive up to a $750 ChatGPT ad-spend match if they sign up by Sept. 30.
