Microsoft and the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) announced that customers can build agents in Copilot Studio that use LSEG-licensed financial data within Microsoft 365 workflows. LSEG says its datasets total more than 33 petabytes.

An LSEG-managed Model Context Protocol (MCP) server will expose licensed data from products such as Workspace and Financial Analytics for use by agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot.

LSEG said its MCP server provides governed connectivity. The companies said the implementation uses the Model Context Protocol and that LSEG will provide a managed, governed connection to its licensed data.

Microsoft said Copilot Studio lets customers compose agents using policies, prompts, tools and actions. LSEG CEO David Schwimmer said the collaboration transforms data access with “cutting edge, AI-driven innovation at scale.”

The phased rollout begins with LSEG Financial Analytics. Microsoft’s Nick Parker emphasized the partnership redefines financial services through “secure, AI-driven innovation” that accelerates decision-making and streamlines workflows.
