Microsoft on Thursday unveiled a feature drop for Copilot, adding roughly a dozen updates aimed at making the assistant more personal and collaborative.

A blog post framed the release as “human-centered AI,” with new memory so Copilot can recall user-approved details and tools to view, edit or delete those memories at any time.

The most visible change is Mico, an animated avatar for voice mode that reacts in real time and even hides an easter egg to switch into Clippy.

Microsoft also introduced Copilot Groups, supporting up to 32 participants for shared sessions that summarize threads, propose options and split tasks; Groups is launching first for U.S. consumer Copilot.

Beyond collaboration, Microsoft is adding connectors to search across Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar, alongside Outlook and OneDrive, and refining health answers by grounding them in trusted sources such as Harvard Health.

A new Learn Live mode turns Copilot into a voice-enabled Socratic tutor. In Microsoft Edge, Copilot’s new mode supports actions such as information comparison and bookings (e.g., hotels), subject to user permission. Most features are U.S.-first, with broader availability to follow.
