NVIDIA said South Korea’s government and leading companies will add over 260,000 NVIDIA GPUs across sovereign clouds and AI factories, in an announcement.

The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to deploy 50,000+ of the latest GPUs via the National AI Computing Center and Korean cloud providers NHN Cloud, Kakao Corp. and NAVER Cloud.

Samsung Electronics will build an AI factory with more than 50,000 GPUs for semiconductor manufacturing, and SK Group will design an AI factory hosting more than 50,000 GPUs alongside an industrial AI cloud.

Hyundai Motor Group will co-develop AI capabilities using 50,000 Blackwell GPUs for model training and deployment, and NAVER Cloud plans to add more than 60,000 GPUs, NVIDIA said.

Announced alongside the APEC summit in South Korea, the initiative aims to support national sovereign AI goals and industry use cases in automotive, manufacturing and telecommunications, the company said.

Bae Kyung-hoon, Korea’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Information and Communication Technologies, said: “Expanding our national AI infrastructure and developing technologies with NVIDIA is an investment that will further reinforce South Korea’s strengths, including manufacturing capabilities.”
