Open AI releases ChatGPT Enterprise with extra business-focussed features
Open AI has launched a business-focussed edition of its wildly popular chatbot app ChatGPT.
In addition to the features available as part of the standard offerings, Open AI claims ChatGPT Enterprise also offers ‘enterprise-grade privacy’, unlimited data analysis features and enhanced customisation offerings.
Reassuring businesses that it’s safe to use the enterprise version of its product, the Sam Altman-led generative AI firm also stated that it does not train its language models on a business’s data or conversations and its models do not learn from their usage.
In terms of data analysis, Open AI claimed that ChatGPT Enterprise will provide unlimited access to Advanced Data Analysis, previously known as Code Interpreter, which enables both technical and non technical users to analyse information in seconds.
Another key differentiator includes the ability to tailor ChatGPT to a business’s own needs, within its own workflows, with the option of shared chat templates to collaborate and build common workflows.
Chat GPT Enterprise is powered by GPT-4, OpenAI’s flagship AI model and its premium paid for consumer model, ChatGPT Plus.
However, Open AI claims that ChatGPT Enterprise customers get priority access to GPT-4, delivering performance that’s twice as fast as the standard GPT-4.
The company also plans to introduce another tier of usage, called ChatGPT Business, for smaller teams, although did not specify a timeline.
OpenAI has not listed upfront pricing for its enterprise product to date, suggesting that it would vary depending on requirements of individual companies.
The company will “work with everyone to figure out the best plan for them”, chief operating officer Brad Lightcap told Bloomberg.
Open AI listed several early users of ChatGPT Enterprise including Block, Canva, Carlyle, The Estée Lauder Companies, PwC, and Zapier.
Danny Wu, head of AI products at Canva left a glowing testimony on Open AI’s site: “From engineers troubleshooting bugs to data analysts clustering free form data, to finance analysts writing tricky spreadsheet formulas – the use cases for ChatGPT Enterprise are a plenty.
“It’s become the true enabler of productivity with the dependable security and data privacy controls we need.”
Last month tech rival Microsoft, launched its own enterprise grade generative AI, Bing Chat Enterprise, which offers an array of similar features, and is being rolled out at no extra cost in Microsoft 365.E3, E5, Business Standard and Business Premium.
The tech giant added that it also plans to release it as a standalone product, for $5 per month.
