Infosys unveils ‘AI-first’ Topaz, offering 1000s of industry applications
Indian software services exporter Infosys has launched a suite of generative AI technologies named Topaz which, it claims, has been primed to solve thousands of industry-specific tasks.
The new offering combines data analytics, artificial intelligence, and generative AI which, the IT giant added, comprises of more than 150 pre-trained AI models and over ten platforms that have been steered by ‘AI first’ specialists and data strategists.
Infosys adds that all its AI tools are ‘responsible by design’ and take into consideration ethics, trust, privacy, security and compliance.
Powered by its own proprietary cloud solution and data analytics systems, Topaz claims to have amassed over 12,000 use cases “to help seed and fast track new ideas”.
As an example, it cites a food and beverages chain client which used Topaz to autonomously connect unconnected data signals coming in from new partners to deliver ‘a superior off-store consumer experience with 95% accuracy’.
In a statement released today on its site, the IT giant claims that Topaz enables firms across all industries to use AI with support from an ecosystem of over 100 industry networks and partnerships.
It said that a national railway client used Topaz to build a smart hub, “creating agile value-chains, with best-fit partners from the market, for functions such as first and last mile logistics.”
The firm added that examples of other efficiencies could be seen at a British Bank customer – which it claims used Topaz to transform over 2000 customer service processes to operate in near real-time – a process that usually took over a week.
Other client testimonies come from BT-owned business BT-E-Service (India), which said it was using Topaz ‘to offer AI-powered predictive analytics for various domains such as network performance, sustainability, and security’.
According to Infosys chief exec and managing director Salil Parekh, the firm is seeing strong interest from clients for these types of efficiency and productivity-enhancing programs.
He added that the firm was also applying an AI-first approach to its own transformation.
“Our own business operations have been hugely benefited by Infosys Topaz bringing the power of generative AI platforms and data solutions.
“Today, our clients are building new paths to expand revenue-creating opportunities and grow with Infosys Topaz.”
