When people discuss the future of automotive, the most popular topics are self-driving cars and electrical vehicles. But what about that other futuristic tech we’ve all seen in sci-fi films and TV shows – flying cars?
Russell Vickers, the CEO of Future Mobility Campus Ireland, says in order to facilitate flying cars, safety is paramount, and that means management of more machines in the air, including drones, jets and flying taxis.
In order to help this sector take off, Vickers and his team are launching Ireland’s first Vertiport. The first stage of the mini airport – which supports advanced air mobility – has already been constructed in Shannon, Ireland.
This site will help support start-ups looking to enter this space by providing the infrastructure needed, such as power sources, airspace, and test labs.
